2nd day\\\'s play abandoned for rain

Play on the 2nd day in the one-off Test between Bangladesh and India has been abandoned due to rains. BCB officials said heavy rain washed out the the 2nd day’s play in the lone Test against the visiting Indian cricketers at Khan Saheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah, Narayanganj, on Thursday. The umpires visited the ground from time to time as rainfall had been pouring in phases from morning to afternoon. Play of the 2nd day was called off around 1:40pm due to the inclement weather. Play of the day three will resume at 9.30am on Friday. The Test has repeatedly been affected by rainfall since it began on Wednesday. Earlier on Wednesday, despite having 34 overs lost due to rain interruption and bad light, India scored 239 runs without loss at stamps on Day-1. Shikhar Dhawan bounced back with a very aggressive unbeaten 150. Murali Vijay was also solid with his 89 not out. The pair scored their 2nd 200-run opening partnership. India with the advantage of bowling last on this wicket has its grip very firm on the test. Meanwhile, Met office on Thursday forecasted the bad weather accompanied by heavy rainfall is likely to continue for next three days, according to a news agency.
