2nd death anniv of Humayun Ahmed Saturday

GAZIPUR: The second death anniversary of celebrated fiction writer, playwright and filmmaker Humayun Ahmed will be observed Saturday, according to a news agency.
Different socio-cultural organisations have chalked out various programmes to mark the day. On the occasion, a Qurankhawani will be held at Nuhas Palli after Johr prayers.
Besides, an Iftar party will be arranged at the most favourite retreat of the popular writer when some 800 orphans will be fed.
Humayun Ahmed died on July 19, 2012 at Bellevue Hospital, New York, at the age of 64after a nine-month battle against cancer, bringing the curtain down on an illustrious career of nearly four decades.
