3 Bangladeshis beaten dead in Tripura

Three Bangladeshis have been beaten to death in India’s Tripura state bordering Bangladesh’s Habiganj district. Locals say group of Indian people started beating three Bangladeshis, suspecting them to be thieves, at Gouranagar in Khowai town of Tripura. Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) Balla Company Commander Mozaffar Hossain said they were contacting the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) for details on the matter. Those killed have been identified as Siddique Ali, 55, Omar Ali, 30, and Anwar Miah, 25. All of them were residents of Gazipur Union under Chunarughat Upazila of Habiganj, said Union Parishad Chairman Tajul Islam Molla. Molla confirmed they were lynched on suspicion of being thieves, according to a bdnews24.com.
