3 Bangladeshis shot by BSF in Thakurgaon

Three Bangladeshis were shot and wounded by India’s Border Security Force (BSF) personnel at Baliadangi Upazila of Thakurgaon district on Friday night. The victims were identified as ‘Mister’, 25, son of Selim Miah, ‘Sadequl’, 26, son of Dabir Uddin and ‘Tojammel’, 25, son of Azam Uddin. Major Touhid Hossain of Border Guard Bangladesh Battalion-30 said a group of BSF troops of Borobillah camp opened fire on the three Bangladeshi youths when they went to Baliadangi’s Beurjhari border point for bringing cattle around 11:30pm, leaving them injured. The incident took place in a secluded land adjacent to the frontier pillar No 380, Major Touhid said. A letter has been sent to the BSF authorities protesting the incident and another letter has been sent asking them to hold a company-commander level flag meeting over the incident, he added, according to a news agency.
