3 BAU students expelled, 3 suspended

Three students of Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) were expelled on Wednesday in connection with the murder of Bangladesh Chhatra League leader Saad Ibn Momtaj. The university authorities also suspended three other students for various terms, registrar of the university Abdul Khaleq said after an emergency syndicate meeting in the morning. The expelled students are Sujoy Kumer Kundu and Rokonuzzaman Rokon, honours final year students of Fisheries Faculty and Rezaul Karim Reza, a master’s student of Finance Department. Besides, Agricultural Economics and Rural Sociology department final year students Najmul Sadat Russel and Dewan Mohammad have been suspended for four years while 2nd year student of Livestock department Md Antar Chowdhury for two years. Earlier on Tuesday, Board of Residence and Students Disciplinary Committee in a meeting recommended expulsion of the six students, according to UNB.
