3 bodies found in Meghna, Padma

Three bodies have been found floating in Meghna and Padma rivers in Bhola, Chandpur and Shariyatpur district on Wednesday which police suspect are those of sunken launch ‘Pinak-6’. Bhola’s Superintendent of Police (SP) Md Moniruzzaman said local people in an area near Ramdaspur of Bhola spotted a corpse in Meghna River around 9am. The dead was identified as ‘Fahim’, hailing from Jhalakati. ‘He studied at a university. Family members said he was returning to Dhaka after Eid vacations,’ the police officer said. The body of a female has also been found in Meghna in Chandpur's Haimchar Upazila on Wednesday morning, The OC of Haimchar Police Station said. He said the body was found floating in Meghna near the Nilkamal Union's Majhirbazar. Two bodies were found on Tuesday at the Union's Madhyachar area, one of which the police suspected to be that of a Pinak-6 victim. Meanwhile, locals at Shariatpur informed police of a body floating in Padma River near Char Atra, in Nariya Upazila. Nariya Police OC Kabir Uz Jaman said that the body was a man’s, aged around 40. Pinak-6 sank on Monday morning in Padma near Munshiganj's Mawa, according to bdnews24.com.
