3 child porn syndicate members held in city

Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of police has arrested three members of an organised syndicate involved in making child pornography from the capital. They also rescued a boy and recovered over 100 porn CDs and various types of materials used for making child pornography. The arrested were identified as Tipu Kibria alias TIM Fakhruzzaman, 47, Nurul Amin alias Nuru and Md Shaharul Islam. Briefing reporters at the CID head office at the city’s Malibagh on Thursday, Special Super (Organised Crime) of CID Md Ashraful Islam said a special team (Cyber Crime) of the branch conducted a drive at Tarabagh of Khilgaon on Tuesday night and arrested Tipu Kibria. The drive was conducted following a request from international police organisation Interpol to arrest the syndicate members. In the face of interrogation, Tipu confessed that he had long been involved in making pornography using male children and he used to sell those through internet, the CID official said. Tipu also revealed that he has so far used over 100 children for pornographies selling which he had earned a lot of money. Following his statement, the CID team arrested Nuru from his Maniknagar resident and Shaharul from Guran area on Wednesday. They also rescued a boy from Nuru’s studio. Additional DIG (Organised Crime) of CID Shah Alam said Tipu Kibria was well known as a child litterateur who authored about 50 books. “He had been involved in making child pornography since 2005. He used to target street children aged 10-16 to make pornography,” according to UNB.
