3 cops held over extortion in city

Police arrested two assistant sub-inspectors and a constable of Bhatara Police Station from East Bhatara in the city early on Saturday on charge of demanding toll from two people after arresting them. The arrestees identified as assistant sub-inspectors Mir Shariful Islam and Kaisar Ahmed and constable Abdur Rahman were also suspended. — UNB
