3 cops sued in Khulna

KHULNA, Nov 15 (UNB): A magistrate court here on Sunday took a case into cognizance which was filed against three cops on charge of harassing a grocery shopkeeper at Khalishpur in the city.
The accused were identified as SI Kamal Hossain of KMP Detective Branch, SI Nurunnabi Bhuiya of Doulatpur thana and constable Rafiqul Islam Kanchan of KMP.
Mohammad Masum, a grocery shop owner filed the case on November 11 with the Khulna Metropolitan Magistrate Court.
According to the case statement, the three accused entered the shop of Masum on November 4 and kept him under pressure in a bid to extort money by tactfully keeping phensidyl at his shop. They also harassed the shop keeper.
After filing of the case Khulna Metropolitan Magistrate Swapan Kumar Sarker took the case into cognizance and ordered police for proper investigation.
