3-day folk festival begins today in Sunamganj

SUNAMGANJ, Apr 2 (BSS): A three-day folk festival in remembrance of mystic poet Hasan Raja, baul legend Shah Abdul Karim and renowned folk poet Radharaman Dutta begins here tomorrow.
The festival, organized by the district administration in cooperation with the Ministry of Cultural Affairs and Lafarge Surma Cement, a multinational company, will be held on Sunamganj Government Jubilee High School playground.
DC Muhammud Yasin Chowdhury told the reporters today that the principal aim of the festival is to make the new generation familiar with folk songs.
A three-day book fair will also be held on the occasion. The fair is aimed at building the habit of book reading among young people.
