3 die, 10 injured in Magura crash

Three people died in a head-on collision between a bus and a truck in Wapda area in Shreepur Upazila in Magura district on Monday morning. Police said at least 10 other people were injured in the road accident. Two of the deceased could be identified so far as Nazrul Islam (35) from Kacherkol area of Shailkupa Upazila of Jhenidah district, and Zillur Rahman, 38, hailed from Manikganj district. The other deceased could not be identified. All the deceased were passengers of the bus, police and hospital sources said. They said a ‘S Alam Paribahan’ bus was on its way to Khulna from Dhaka when it collided, amid dense fog, with a truck coming from opposite direction at Kalinagar, instantly killing two passengers, injuring 11 other people. They were rushed to Magura Sadar Hospital where a critically injured man succumbed to his injuries. Condition of six other injured were stated to be critical, according to a news agency.
