3 die as van hits truck in Tangail

Three people died when a pickup van and a truck collided in Tangail's Mirzapur Upazila on Tuesday. The accident took place near Mirzapur Filling Station on Dhaka-Tangail Highway around 2:30am, said Gorai Police Station OC Jobaidul Alam. The dead were identified as Abdul Alek Miah, 22, Saiful Islam, 40, and Shukur Ali, 35. Quoting locals, the OC said the van hit the Dhaka-bound truck which was coming from Tangail. The van’s driver and two of its passengers died on the spot. The bodies were sent to Tangail Sadar Hospital for autopsy, according to a news agency.
