3 factories fined Tk 30,000

The regional office of Bangladesh Standard and Testing Institution (BSTI) has expedited drives against the manufacturing of substandard and adulterated food and realised fine amounting to Tk 30,000 in Rajshahi city. According to the officials concerned, the BSTI in assistance with the district administration conducted deployed mobile court in Kathalbaria and Munshipara areas under Rajpara Police Station in the divisional city. The court led by Executive Magistrate Shah Kamrul Huda lodged separate cases against three owners of factories on various charges. The accused factories are: Masum Oil Mill, Monirul Oil Mill and Mokka Vermicelli Factory. The court realised Tk 30,000 from the factory owners as fine and disposed of the cases on the spot, according to BSS.
