3 get life in prison for killing schoolboy

A Dhaka court has sentenced three people to life imprisonment each for killing schoolboy Salman Fahad Patwary in Savar in 2013. The lifers are Salman’s uncle Abdur Razzak, his aunty Fatema Begum and another relative Jahid Hossain. According to the prosecution, Salman, a Class-IV student of Saad Memorial Bidyaniketan Kindergarten, was beaten to death by his uncle and aunt over a land dispute on July 27, 2013. Father of the victim Md Kamruzzaman filed a case against the three with Savar Police Station. On December 3, 2013, sub-inspector Ashraful Alam, also investigation officer of the case, filed charge-sheet against the accused to Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate’s Court. After examining the witnesses and evidence, judge of the Speedy Trial Tribunal-3 Syeed Ahmed handed down punishment to the three on Monday afternoon, according to a news agency.
