3 held for selling text books

NARAYANGANJ, Oct 2 (bdnews24.com): The police have seized over 10,000 school text books from Rupganj Upazila in Narayanganj.
Rupganj police sub-inspector Ahsan Ullah said those books of the National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NCTB) were taken to Purbachal Paper Mill of Hatabo area on Friday at around 1:30 pm by a truck.
Three people - contractor Abul Hossain (29) driver Mohammad Hakim (36) and helper 'Kamin' (22) of the truck - were also held from the spot.
Locals became suspicious after the books, which were brought from Gaibandha in a truck, were being unloaded at the Purbachal Paper Mill gate and later informed the police.
Books for class two, three, four and five of Bengali, English, social science and science subjects were being sold to the mill as per weight, the official added.
During interrogation the arrestees said Gaibnadha Primary Education Department contractor 'Shahjahan' sold the books to Abul Hossain.
