3 held with 9,000 Yaba in Ctg

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) personnel arrested three alleged Yaba traders and recovered 9,000 contraband tablets in Bandartila in Chittagong city on Monday night. The arrestees were identified as Syed Alam, 50, of Teknaf Upazila of Cox’s Bazar district, Shahjahan, 35, and Manjurul, 28, residents of EPZ area in the port city. Tipped-off, a RAB-7 team raided a house on Bakshiali Munshi Road in Bandartila area around 10:30pm and arrested them. The RAB men recovered 9,000 pieces of Yaba and Tk 0.5 million from Yaba sale from their possession. They also seized 13 mobile phone sets, including a satellite phone, and a Chinese machete from the house, according to a news agency.
