3 held with firearm, Yaba

Police in separate drives arrested three people along with a pistol, four rounds of bullet and 44 pieces of Yaba tablet at Jhikorgachha upazila in Jessore district on Friday night. The arrested are Kabir Hossain, 25, son of late Motaleb Khan, a resident of Fatehpur village of Jhikorgachha, Alal, 24, son of Nowsher Ali Morol, a resident of Beneali village of the upazila and Md Ishhaq, 27, son late Abdul Khalek, a resident of Police Line Lichu Bagan area of Sadar upazila. Mizanur Rahman, assistant sub-inspector of Jhikorgachha Police Station, said on secret information, a team conducted a drive at Hajirali Balikhola village on Jessore-Benapole Highway and arrested Kabir along with a pistol and four rounds of bullet. A few hours later, the police team picked up Ishhaq and Alal and recovered 44 pieces of Yaba tablet from them at the same village, according to a news agency.
