3 held with gold bars at Shahjalal

Airport armed police personnel arrested three people and recovered five gold bars weighing 600 grams worth about Tk 2.4 million from them at Hazrat Shahjalal (RA) International Airport in the city on Wednesday night and Thursday morning. “We arrested two passengers returned from Dubai with four gold bars from Green Channel of the airport at 10:00am on Thursday and the other with one more gold bar last (Wednesday) night,” assistant police super of airport armed police Nur-e-Alam Siddique said. Two of the arrestees were identified as Monirul Islam, 32, and Mizanur Rahman, 40, while the identity of the other could not be known immediately, he said. Separate cases were lodged with Airport Police Station in this connection, according to BSS.
