3 held with weapons in Sylhet

The law enforcers arrested three men along with five machetes, 10 iron pipes, a shot gun and 14 pieces of wooden stick in Chhatak upazila of Sylhet district on Saturday night. The arrestees were identified as Amir Ali, 55, owner of a telecom shop were the weapons were seized from, Nur Uddin, 25, and Selim Ahammad, 27. Led by executive magistrate Masum Billah, a joint team of police and local administration conducted a drive in Gobindaganj area around 8:00pm. The team arrested the three people from ‘Eti Telecom Shop” and seized the weapons from the shop. The law enforcers also put the shop under lock and key. Harunur Rashid Chowdhury, officer-in-charge of Chhatak police station, confirmed the incident, according to UNB.
