3 hurt in robber attack in Pabna: 4 arrested

PABNA, Oct 2: Four robbers were held after a mob beating while three people were injured in robber attack in Gati area of Pabna Sadar Upazila early Thursday.
The arrestees Md. Rony Hossain, 22, of village Sabusain, Md. Munna Hossain, 23, of village Hagpasha in Moulvibazar district, Sumon Hossain (1) 28, son of village Shamimabad in Sylhet Sadar Upazila and Sumon Hossain (2) of village Zatrabari in Dhaka were admitted to Pabna Medical College Hospital under police custody.
Officer-in-charge of Pabna Sadar police station Kazi Haniful Islam said a gang of robbers numbering 8 to 10 attacked the residences of one Nizam Uddin and Selim Hossain of village Gati in Pabna Sadar Upazila at about 3am.
Confining the residents of the both houses the robbers looted Tk. 0.25 million and 15 bhaori of gold ornaments. They attacked the residents leaving three injured when the latter tried to resist them, the OC said.
Of the injured Selina Khatun, Rana Hossain and Musa Pramanik of the village were admitted to Pabna Medical College Hospital.
With the alarm raised by the victims villagers chased the robbers and caught four of them while the rest managed to escape from the spot.
Angry locals beat them up later police rushed to the spot and arrested them, the OC said.
Police recovered two sharp weapons from their possession. A case was filed against them with Pabna Sadar police station in this regard.
