3 jailed for sexually harassing girl

A mobile court in Rajshahi on Friday sent three construction workers to jail awarding them six months’ imprisonment each for sexually harassing a girl in Godagari upazila. The convicts are Nayem Ali, 19, son of Shamsher Ali, Khayrul Islam, 19, son of Amir Hossain and Abdur Rakib, 22, son of Aziz Kalu of Sairgachha village in the outskirts of Rajshahi city. Local people said the three had been doing construction works at a site at Kadma village in Godagari upazila for long. On Friday, they passed indecent remarks to a young girl of ethnic minority community at Kadma village. Being informed, police arrested them and produced them before a mobile court which sentenced handed down the punishment. Later, the convicts were sent to Rajshahi Central Jail, according to a news agency.
