3 Jamaat men held from \\\'secret meeting\\\' in C\\\'nawabganj

Police arrested a leader and two activists of Jamaat-e-Islami while they were holding a ‘clandestine meeting’ at Gomastapur Upazila in Chapainawabganj district on Monday afternoon. The arrested are Ekramul Haque, 48, superintendent of Chowdala Dakhil Madrasa and an activist of Jamaat, Tariqul Islam, 32, assistant secretary of Chowdala union unit of Jamaat, and Alauddin, a local Jamaat activist. Firoz Ahmed, officer-in-charge of Gomastapur Police Station, said on secret information, a team of police conducted a raid at a madrasa at Chowdala and picked up the trio while they were holding a secret meeting there around 2:00pm. However, their other associates fled the scene sensing the presence of the law enforcers, he added, according to UNB.
