3 kg gold seized at Hazrat Shahjalal Int\\\'l Airport

Gold bars weighing over 3 kilograms (kg) have been seized at Hazrat Shahjalal (RA) International Airport. Customs sources said customs officials recovered the gold bars from a passenger of a Malaysian Airlines flight around 12:10pm on Sunday. They said the 30 gold bars were recovered from passenger, Saiham, after Malaysian Airlines flight MS-196 carrying him landed the airport from Malaysia’s Kuala Lumpur around 11:45am. Airport employees and customs officials said while searching, the customs officials found the gold bars inside the shoes of Saiham. The market value of the seized gold bars will be around Tk 13.5 million, the customs officials said, according to a news agency.
