3 killed, 8 injured in road mishaps in districts

JHENIDAH, Apr 13 (UNB) : Two people, including a minor boy, were killed and eight others injured in separate road accidents in Harinakundu and Sadar upazilas this (Wednesday) morning.
Police and witnesses said a minor boy was killed and two others were injured in a road mishap at Teltupi on Jhenidah-Kushtia road in Harinakundu Upazila at about 8am.
The deceased was identified as Rifat Rahman (7), son of Rezaul Islam of Mokimpur village in the upazila and a class I student of a local primary school.
Police said the accident occurred when the driver of a Harinakundu-bound three-wheeler Nosimon lost control over the steering and the vehicle overturned on the road, leaving Rifat dead on the spot and two other passengers injured.
Another accident occurred at about 5am at Golakata crossing at Holidhani village in Sadar Upazila when another Nosimon plunged into a road side ditch, leaving Milton (21), the driver of Nosimon dead on the spot and six other passengers injured.
The injured were admitted to Sadar hospital.
The bodies were sent to hospital morgue for autopsy. Two separate cases were filed.
Another report from Natore adds : A minor girl was killed when hit by a truck at Bonbelgharia in Sadar Upazila of Natore Tuesday.
Witnesses the speedy truck ran over and killed Sweaty (6) in the afternoon while she was crossing the road.
On information, police rushed to the spot and sent the body to hospital morgue for autopsy.
Police later seized the killer truck from Mollahpara in Puthia Upazila of Rajshahi district.
A case was filed.
