3 killed in city road accidents

Three persons were killed in road accidents in the capital Friday.
According to sources, a female pedestrian was killed when a bus knocked down her in front of City Hospital in Mohammapur area of the city in the morning.
According to eyewitnesses, the accident took place when a bus of Malancha Paribahan hit her from behind in front of the hospital.
The victim Laki Akter (35) had received severe injuries. She was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital
(DMCH) where the attending doctors declared her dead.
In another incident an old man was killed at Mirpur 10 intersection Friday morning. The victim Md Ibrahim (60) was hit by a truck and injured seriously. He was rushed to DMCH and succumbed to his injuries there.
Hailing from Ramnagar under Rupsha upazila in Khulna the victim was a caretaker of Shah Ali Society at Kafrul in the capital.
Meanwhile, a young man was killed following a road accident at about 1:00 am on Friday in the city's Paltan area. The victim Shariful Islam (30) was hit by a truck when he was crossing the road in front of Ananda Bhaban located in the area.
According to the eyewitnesses, he was knocked down by the truck while crossing the road in front of the Bhaban.
He was rushed to DMCH and succumbed to his injuries at about 2:30 a.m. He was a resident of Manda area in the capital, according to DMCH and police station concerned.
