3 killed in Comilla road crash

At least three people were killed and two others injured in a road accident on Dhaka-Chittagong highway in Nuritala in Chandina upazila in Comilla district on Sunday. The deceased were identified as Jaharlal Sarkar, 50, Narayanchandra Sarkar, 45 and Santosh Sarkar, 42. All the victims were carpenter by profession and hailed from Kerankhal village in the upazila. Illiotganj Highway Police, said the accident occurred around 3:30 pm when a Chittagong-bound ‘Hanif Paribahan’ bus from Dhaka hit a pick-up van, leaving three pick-up van passengers dead on the spot and two others injured. The injured were taken to Chandina Upazila Health Complex, according to UNB.
