FE Report
Three people, including the alleged killer of assistant sub-inspector Mizanur Rahman, were killed in separate encounters between criminals and the law enforcers at Pallabi and Gendaria in the capital Wednesday.
On a tip-off, a police team from the Detective Branch (DB) raided Pallabi embankment area to arrest the alleged killer of the policeman of Ramna police station at about 2:00 am and were locked in a gunfight as the criminals opened fire on them.
"We'd to fire back as the criminals started firing on us sensing our presence," a DB official said adding that the alleged killer Rahat was caught in the line of fire and died on the spot.
But the plainclothes police could not arrest any accomplices of Rahat as they fled the place leaving him behind.
In another incident, two people - Suman and Alauddin - were killed in gunfire with the RAB members in the early hours of Wednesday.
