3 killed in garment factory railing collapse

At least thee people were killed and five others injured as railing of an under-construction floor of a ready-made garment (RMG) factory building collapsed in Narayanganj city on Saturday night. The deceased were identified as Waiz Uddin, Azharul Islam and Forkan. Witnesses said railing of the under-construction 6th floor of 'Kat Tex' factory building in the area collapsed on a battery-run auto-rickshaw below during a nor'wester around 8:30pm, leaving Waiz Uddin, driver of the auto-rickshaw, dead on the spot and five more people injured. Among the injured, Azharul and Forkan were declared dead by doctors after they were taken to nearby clinics. Meanwhile, angered at the incident, locals attacked the RMG factory and threw brick chips. On information, police rushed in and tried to bring the situation under control in which five more people, including Sub-inspector Mazhar of Fatulla Model Police Station, were injured, according to UNB
