3 killed in lightning strike

PANCHAGARH, Jun 9 (UNB): A man was killed and three others were injured when a lightning struck them at Bodhgaon village in Atwari upazila early Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Umer Ali, 42, son of Paim Uddin of the same village.
Sources said Umer along with Touhidul, Fazlul and Abdur Razzak were catching fish in a water body during rain when the thunderbolt struck them, leaving Umer dead on the spot and injuring others.
A report from Comilla says: A young man was killed and another injured when a thunderbolt struck them at Bawachar village in Muradnagar upazila on Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Bakis Mia, 22, son of Osman Mia of the same village.
Witnesses said Bakis and another man, Russel, were gossiping near a pond during rain in the morning when the thunderbolt struck them, leaving Bakis dead on the spot and injuring Russel.
BSS reports from Satkhira: A farmer was killed by lightning at Pathorghata village under sadar upazila in the district this afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Lutfor Rahman, 45, son of Dewan Ali at Jhaudanga.
