3 killed in Noakhali trawler capsize

Three fisherman were killed as a trawler capsized in the Meghna River in Hatiya upazila of Noakhali district amid storm on Saturday. The deceased were identified as Jamal, 35, son of Anajol, and Rakib, 15, both residents of Shunyerchar, and Abdul Matin, son of Abdul Malek, a resident of Rehania village of the upazila. Officer-in-charge of Hatiya Police Staion Nurul Huda said the trawler carrying 13 fishermen sank in the river during storm when they went to the river for catching fish at dead of night. However, local people rescued 10 fishermen. Later, locals recovered the three bodies from the river in the morning, according to a news agency.
