3 killed in road accident in city

Three people were killed and another three injured, as a truck crashed into a car at Birulia Rasulpur in the city's Pallabi area Thursday. The deceased were identified as Shawkat Ali, 62, a retired official of Bangladesh Biman Airlines, his wife Nina Shawkat, 48, and car-driver Abdul Quayum, 42. Police said a goods-laden truck collided with the car at about 8am, killing its driver and the Shawkat couple instantly. — UNB
