3 killed in Tangail crash

At least three people were killed as a truck crashed into another truck on Bangabandhu (Jamuna) Bridge Link Road in Kalihati upazila in Tangail early Wednesday. Two of the deceased were helpers of the two trucks involved in the accident, locals and witnesses said. Identities of the dead could not be known immediately. Officer-in-charge of Bangabandhu Bridge Police Station (East) M Akheruzzaman said a cotton-laden truck plunged into a ditch beside the road in Salla area at about 5:30am after a northern region-bound rod-laden truck hit it from behind, leaving two helpers of the two trucks and driver of the cotton laden-truck dead on the spot. On information, police recovered the bodies and sent those to a local hospital for post-mortem, according to bdnews24.com.
