3 lynched in Mymensingh

A lynch mob has killed three people suspecting them to be robbers at Trishal Upazila in Mymensingh district. The incident occurred at Kathal Rajabari village under Kalirbazar around 10pm on Friday, said Firoz Talukder, the OC at Trishal Police Station. The victims have been identified Saiful Islam, 35, son of Lokman Qari of the village, Abdul Mannan, 32, and Abul Kalam Azad, 33, from Gafargaon upazila. Suspected them to be robbers, the villagers chased and cornered them in a paddy field around 10:00pm, Majharul Islam, sub-inspector of Trishal Police Station said. Hearing that a gang of robbers were caught on Kali Bazar, villagers came out of their homes and beat the men, who took shelter in the paddy field, to death, according to a news agency.
