3 new Indian visa application centres inaugurated

The State Bank of India on Sunday launched three new Indian Visa Application Centres (IVACs) in Mymensingh, Barisal and Rangpur. Pankaj Saran, Indian High Commissioner in Dhaka inaugurated the three centres through a videoconference in Barisal in presence of Deputy Managing Director (International Banking Group), State Bank of India Corporate Centre, (Mumbai) India Siddharatha Sengupta. With the inauguration of these centres, IVACs are now available at 10 locations in Bangladesh (Gulshan, Motijheel and Dhanmondi in Dhaka), Rajshahi, Chittagong, Sylhet, Khulna, Rangpur, Barisal and Mymensingh, according to Indian High Commission. The new IVACs in Rangpur, Barisal and Mymensingh will start functioning from Monday.
Their addresses and jurisdictions are as follows: Mymensingh IVAC: 297/1, Masakanda, Ist Floor, Masakanda Bus Stand, Mymensingh. Applicants Jamalpur, Kishoreganj, Mymensingh, Netrakona, Sherpur, Tangail and Bhaluka can avail of services from this centre.
Barisal IVAC: North City Super Market, 1st Floor, Barisal City Corporation, Amrita Lal Dey Road, Barisal. It will cover Barisal, Barguna, Bhola, Jhalakati, Patuakhali and Pirojpur.
Rangpur IVAC: J.B. Sen Road, Opposite Ram Krishana Mission, Mahigonj. This centre will cover Rangpur, Dinajpur, Kurigram, Gaibanda, Nilphamari, Panchagarh, Thakurgaon and Lalmonirhat.
New services like dedicated IVAC helpline, SMS alert service and prepayment of visa processing fees have also been introduced by the State Bank of India for the benefit of visa applicants, according to a news agency.
