3 Pabna LGED staffs sued for misappropriation

PABNA, Feb 10: The Anti-corruption Commission (ACC) filed two separate cases against three Local Government and Engineering Department (LGED) officials including executive engineer for misappropriating Tk. 79,70,000 from poor women's savings.
Assistant director of ACC  Md. Jalal Uddin filed two cases with Pabna police station on Sunday night.
The accused are former executive engineer of LGED, Pabna, Md. Golam Kibria, now working in LGED, Barisal, Md. Masud Rana, former account assistant of LGED, Pabna and Tazunnahar, former sociologist of RERMP project of LGED, Pabna.
In one case the complainant claimed that the accused LGED officials misappropriated  Tk. 28,30,000 from the savings fund of RERMP project from March, 3, 2010 to January, 19, 2011.
 In another case the complainant claimed that the accused LGED officials misappropriated Tk. 51,40,000 from the same account from August, 5, 2011 to August, 14, 2012.
The accused LGED officials misappropriated the fund by false cheques, the complainant claimed in both cases. The matter of misappropriating fund was revealed in primary inquiry by ACC. ACC filed the case according to inquiry report, officials said.  
Sub inspector Md. Bodruddoza said they have recorded the cases on Sunday.
