3 pilgrims die in Comilla road crash

Three people were killed and 25 others injured when a bus carrying pilgrims to a shrine plunged into a roadside ditch in Muradnagar upazila in Comilla district on Friday. The identities of the deceased could not be known immediately. Nazim Uddin, officer-in-charge of Muradnagar Police Station, said the accident took place in Sonakanda area at about 5:30 am when a Narsingdi-bound bus carrying pilgrims visiting Sonakanda Darbar Sharif plunged into a roadside ditch, leaving two of them killed on the spot and 26 others injured. Among the 26 injured, 11 were rushed to Muradnagar Upazila Health complex where another succumbed to his injuries, according to UNB.
