3 Satkhira Jamaat men jailed

A mobile court in Satkhira has sentenced three activists of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami to one year imprisonment each on charge of planning to carry out subversive activities in Kaliganj upazila of the south-eastern district. Police said Asaduzzaman Sardar, 40, a resident of Tarali village, Rafiqul Islam, 37, and Mosharaf Hossain, 35, both residents of Pashchim Narayanpur village of the upazila – were arrested from different areas in the upazila in the evening. Later, the Jamaat men were produced before the mobile court, led by executive magistrate Sayed Faruk Ahmed, which sentenced them to one year imprisonment each, according to UNB.
