3 Shibir men held at RU

RU Correspondent RAJSHAHI UNIVERSITY, Oct 17: Motihar police early on Monday arrested three Islami Chhatra Shibir (ICS) men from Katakhali area near Rajshahi University in connection with February 8, 2010 campus violence. The arrestees were Manzur Rahman, a third year student of Arabic department, Hasanuzzaman, a fourth year student of Islamic History department of the Rajshahi University and Zahurul Islam (22), from Shampur village under Shibganj in Chapainawabganj. Police said on information that a group of Shibir men were holding a secret meeting at Katakhali area, law enforcers of Motihar Police Station conducted a drive at the area at around 4:00am. During the drive police arrested the three while other Shibir men fled after sensing police presence, police said.
