3 shot dead in city

Three people, including the owner of a house, were shot to death by some miscreants in the city's Moghbazar area on Thursday evening. Police and hospital sources said a gang of armed miscreants entered the house of Ranu Akhter, 28, her brother Riday, 23 and their two tenants were fired from a point blank range by the gangsters in Moghbazar area around 7.45pm. Ranu Akhter, her two tenants Billal, 22, and Munna, 18, were killed on the spot while Riday received critical bullet wounds. On hearing the gunshots, local people and police rushed to the spot. They rescued Riday and took him to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital, according to a news agency.
