3 Tejturibazar fire victims die

Three people, who suffered critical burn injuries in the fire incident at Tejturibazar in the city Thursday, died Friday. "Three people, who sustained over 90 per cent burn injuries in the fire, died at the Burn and Plastic Surgery Unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital," Prof Dr Sazzad Khandoker of the hospital said. The deceased were identified as Abdul Latif (70), a rickshaw-van driver, son of late Abdul Jabbar, of Barishul Keraniganj, Ibrahim Khalil (35), electrical engineer, son of late Saidul Haque, a resident of 1/1, Purbo Tejturibazar, and Shafiul Azam (48), manager of the shop gutted in the fire, son of Abdul Malek, a resident of 55/E Purbo Tejturibazar. — BSS
