3 to walk gallows for Bagerhat killing

Three persons have been sentenced to death while six others have got life for killing a man 11 years ago. The court of Bagerhat District and Sessions Judge SM Solayman gave the verdict of the 2003 murder on Thursday. The Bagerhat court also acquitted another person from the charges. Rustam Ali Matubbar was shot dead in 2003 in the district’s Fakirhat Upazila. Those who got death sentence are Tapan Mandal, Jihad Sheikh and Atanu Mandal. Prosecutor Sheikh Mohammad Ali said that apart from two out of the nine convicted, all are absconding, according to bdnews24.com.
