30 held for trying to enter India illegally

Members of Border Guard Bangladesh arrested 30 people while they were going to India illegally through Benapole border at Sarsa upazila in Jessore on Friday night. Confirming the incident, SM Shafiuddin, sub-inspector of Benapole Port Police Station, said a patrol team of BGB-23 conducted a drive at Putkhali border point and arrested them. The arrestees include 16 men, eight women and six children – all of them hailing from different upazilas of Jessore, Khulna, Narail, Bagerhat and Barisal districts. Later, BGB troops handed over them to Benapole Port Police. A case was filed in this connection, according to UNB.
