30 injured as AL, BNP men clash in Bhola

BHOLA, Feb 23 (UNB): At least 30 people were injured and 10 business establishments and houses ransacked in a fierce clash between supporters of the Awami League (AL) and the BNP Sunday over raising Doulatkhan launch ghat entry fee.
Police quoting local people said the clash ensued when Mannan's group of AL went to the launch ghat and protested the increase of entry fee from Tk 2.00 to Tk 3.00.
They locked into an altercation with Kamal's group of BNP, who took out lease of the ghat, and at one stage, supporters of Kamal attacked on them.
Later, the fierce clash ensued between them that left 30 people injured from both sides.
Some 10 houses and business establishments were ransacked during the clash, witnesses said.
