30 injured in B'baria clash

BRAHMANBARIA, Apr 18 (UNB): At least 30 people were injured in a clash between two groups of villagers over a cricket match at Suhilpur village in Sadar upazila Tuesday morning.
Police said the clash broke out between the two groups of North Suhilpur and South Suhilpur at the playground of South Suhilpur during the cricket match Monday afternoon.
At one stage some people of the South Suhilpur attacked Rahim Mia of North Suhilpur in the morning when he was going to a local bazaar.
As the news of the attack on Rahim spread around, both the groups equipped with lethal weapons and sticks attacked each other, leaving 30 people injured from both sides.
On information police rushed to the spot and controlled the situation.
Of the injured Sachchu Mia, 35, Idris Mia, 30, Yusuf Mia, 52, Hashem Ali, 23, Edan Mia, 29, Ranwara Begam, 39, Jewel Mia, 30 and Mamin Mia, 27 were admitted to Brahmanbaria Sadar Hospital while others injured to Sarail health complex.
