30 injured in Savar Otobi factory fire

At least 30 people were injured when the Otobi Furniture factory caught fire at Savar in the outskirts of Dhaka city on Tuesday night. Witnesses said the fire originated from an unknown source at the factory around 10:00pm and it soon engulfed the whole factory at Akran under the Savar Upazila. The fire left at least 30 people injured, mostly burns. At least 400 employees were reportedly working in the factory when the fire broke out. On information, 11 fire-fighting units from Savar, Savar EPZ, Uttara of in the city and another Dhaka fire station rushed in and tamed the blaze after six hours of hectic efforts around 4am. Some of the injured were rushed to Dhaka while three of the wounded were admitted to Enam Medical College Hospital, according to a news agency.
