30-member preliminary squad named for WC

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) Saturday announced a 30-member its preliminary squad for ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 will that take place in Australia and New Zealand in February and March, reports UNB.
Bangladesh placed in Pool A with Afghanistan, Australia, England, Sri Lanka, New Zealand and Scotland will start their World Cup campaign taking on Afghanistan on February 18 at Manuka Oval in Canberra.
BCB national selection panel chairman Faruque Ahmed said the 30-man squad is an accurate reflection of the resources on hand, adding, "I believe we've picked the strongest 30s available to us at this moment."
As plan for the world tournament he said, "We've concentrated on creating back-ups for every position because it will be a long tournament."
"We've a good balance in the side with all areas covered." the chairman observed.
Observing weather condition in host countries the chairman said, "The condition in host countries will be a challenge for all the sub-continental teams, including Bangladesh. We can't create those conditions here and that's why we've selected players based on performances in competitions they have appeared in and our intuition."
Bangladesh preliminary squad: Mushfiqur Rahim, Mominul Hoque, Mahmud Ullah, Shamsur Rahman, Tamim Iqbal, Muktar Ali, Marshall Ayub, Rubel Hossain, Anamul Haque Bijoy, Sabbir Rahman, Shakib Al Hasan, Taskin Ahmed, Nasir Hossain, Abul Hasan Raju, Mohammad Elias, Arafat Sunny, Ziaur Rahman, Mohammad Mithun, Mashrafe bin Mortaza, Soumya Sarkar, Liton Kumar Das, Taijul Islam, Shafiul Islam, Shuvagata Hom, Abdur Razzak, Naeem Islam, Imrul Kayes, Jubair Hossain, Al-Amin Hossain and Mohammed Shahid.
