30 projects for ultra poor begin in Khulna

KHULNA, Nov 2: The implementation of 30 projects under "Employment for ultra poor" programme has been started in ten unions of Sadar Upazila of Bagerhat district at a cost of Tk 0.86 million.
Deputy Commissioner of Bagerhat Md. Akram Hossain formally inaugurated the programme on the Keshebpur sluice gate premises recently. The programme was attended, among others, by Upazila Chairman Khan Muzibar Rahman, TNO Shafiqul Islam and local Awami League leaders.
A total of 1,449 ultra poor workers will implement the 30 projects in 40 days. They will be paid Tk 150 per day for 7 hours duty through bank accounts. The programme will continue till December 31.
