30 'rajakars' sued in Rajshahi

RAJSHAHI, Apr 5 (UNB): A case has been filed against 30 alleged 'rajakars' at Puthia Upazila of the district for killing a freedom fighter during the War of Liberation in 1971.
The accused are: Abdus Samad of Bathua in Charghat Upazila, Abdul Mazed of Baduria village, Abdus Samad and Moslem Ali of Maria and Abu Bakar Ali of Namajgram in Puthia, and another unidentified 25 people.
Majedur Rahman Majnu, son of martyred freedom fighter Moyezuddin filed the case with the Chief Judicial Magistrate's Court Sunday. Judge Abu Mohammad Aminul Islam received the case and asked the OC of the Charghat thana to take necessary actions in this regard for investigation.
According to the complainant, the accused were the active members of rajakars, Al-Badars and Al-Shams, collaborators of Pakistani occupation force during the 1971 Liberation War. Majnu alleged that the accused came to their house in Maria area and forcibly took his father to Charghat Duckbanglo area along the bank of the River Padma on the night of 30th Sraban, the Bangla month, in 1971.
