300 buses to join BRTC fleet during Eid

FE Report Some 300 buses of Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation (BRTC) will be pressed into service on various routes from November 2 to help the home-bound people to celebrate the Eid ul Azha. Officials said, under the BRTC Eid Service Programme, the buses will be available for the next three days along with scheduled bus services for the home bound people. BRTC has already formed a special committee to supervise the overall activities of the service and set up a help desk at the BRTC headquarters to keep bus operation smooth. "There would not be any increase on the bus fare on Eid occasion," said BRTC director Quazi Shafiq Uddin. The buses will start journey from the city's BRTC stations of Motijheel, Joarsahara, Kalyanpur, Mirpur 12 (Double Decker), CBS-2 Fulbaria, Gabtali BRTC bus terminal, Mohakhali Bus terminal and AirportCantonment Rail Station. Tickets have been made available in these terminals and stations from October 23. BRTC has opened sub-control room at the Motijheel Depot, the phone number of which is 9333803. The same of control room at Motijheel headquarters is 9564361.
