RAJSHAHI, Feb 3 (UNB): Four separate cases were filed against over 300 students of Rajshahi University (RU) in connection with Sunday's violence on the campus.
Shamsur Nur, officer-in-charge (OC) of Motihar thana, said Entajul Haque, Registrar of RU, filed two cases mentioning names of 150 students while police filed two other cases against 45 identified and 150 unidentified students Monday afternoon.
Earlier, over 60 RU students were injured, including 30 with bullets, as police swung into action while they were agitating on the campus in protest against fee hike and continuation of evening master's programmes Sunday.
Later, the university authorities closed the university for an indefinite period to quell the unrest.
The students have been staging demonstration on the campus since January 16 protesting the authorities' decision to raise their academic fees and introduce evening programmes at the university.
